Wow. . . Where do I even begin? I guess I could start to by introducing myself. I am Cameron Robison, a graduated senior of Valliant High School and one of Hannah´s best friends in `Murica. I apologize if my English seems poor. I am writing this on a Norwegian keyboard and I don`t speak one lick of Norwegian except "Hallo" and "Svampebob." I spend about a minute searching for each character other than letters. Haha.
This year has been the most amazing year I have ever had because of Hannah. The first time we ever met was at a youth group, back-to-school swimming party. Hannah and I attempted to talk about our heights, but of course, there is a big difference between the American system and the metric system: she is 168 cm and I am 5 ft. 7 in. The undeniable differences guaranteed that there is always something to talk about and immediately sparked a friendship that has lasted throughout our senior year and will last a lifetime.
Our first trip to Sonic was one for the books! Sonic is a fast-food, drive-in restaurant with over 398,929 combinations of drinks. After discovering that we order Sonic by pressing a button and receive our food and drinks in the comfort of our own car, Hannah exclaims, "lazy Americans." I will never forget that night! The mixture of Hannah`s indecisive personality with Sonic`s insane amount of drink combinations, needless to say, we spent probably days at Sonic. Sonic became a weekly ritual after high school football games and nearly a daily ritual once the weather started warming back up this Spring.
Many firsts have happened too, because of Miss Hannah. First Imagine Dragons Concert. First drive-in theater. First cold-water challenge. The list goes on and on. At the very beginning of the school year, we discovered we both were crazy about the Imagine Dragons! We decide we were going to a concert before the end of the year. We did not mention it much again until I received concert tickets from her as my Christmas Present. February 22 was one of the best days! We would go back to that concert in a heartbeat. It was absolutely amazing. We left December 26th to go to my brother and sister-in-law´s in Midland, Texas. Here we visited President George W. Bush´s childhood home, Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico, and experienced our first ever drive-in movie theater. Even though the movie was one of the worst we´ve both seen -- The Secret Life Walter Mitty -- we both had a great night because of the experience (ask Hannah and she will tell you it was called The Secrets of Johnathan Sperry. Haha.) Finally, Hannah and I were bored a few weeks back and had the brilliant idea to do the cold-water challenge, even though we were not challenged. Upon leaving my house, Hannah forgot the flip-flops and I had to back up my driveway. I have been driving for over 2 years now and have never hit anything. Of course, there is a first for everything. I backed into my fence. Every time I see the scratches on my car, I will think of our crazy idea of jumping into the water. Once we got to the lake, I ran into the water first and screamed and ran immediately out. The water was so cold! Hannah runs in and seems to take her time, go under water, and enjoy the cold lake. After she got out, I asked her if it was cold to her, her reply: "this is how the water is in the summer in Norway! It feels great." Well, that is just difference number 1,243,456 between America and Norway. Haha.
After many late night girl talks, swimming, concert, Wednesday night church, eating at Sonic, watching movies, and letting Hannah take the blame for when I say something stupid to the guy I like, I did not even realize that each memory was making us closer. I have tried to stay light-hearted in my blog, -- Hannah is the best friend I have ever had and you guys are so lucky to have such an amazing girl in Norway -- and I will cry if I don´t. Never have I found someone that builds me up the way she does, someone I can laugh for hours with and never get tired of, someone I can tell everything to and know that not a lack of judgement shall be passed, someone that will joke around with me and be serious as well, someone that I can spend days at a time doing nothing at all but talking. Hannah is more than my best friend, she is my sister.
Hannah, as you begin your journey back to Norway, I wish you the very best! I am going to miss every memory we have ever made, but most of all, I am going to miss you! I will be seeing you soon. Summer 2015 in Norway is a must and WILL happen! I love you to the moon and back. Thank you for everything.
